Old Beginnings. A Conversation in Poetry. Bronwyn Lea & Mark Tredinnick

  • Echo & Bounce 596 Stanley Street Woolloongabba, QLD, 4101 Australia (map)

To launch his new collection of poems, his fifth, A Beginner's Guide, Mark Tredinnick will converse with Bronwyn Lea about the urgent, ancient work poetry has to do—the molecular revolution it has to carry on, the repairs it has to keep running on reality—in these fast, late, and digital days. Mark and Bronwyn are two of Australia's most beloved and acclaimed poets. Both of them are also teachers of poetry and editors of others' work. Theirs will be a lyrical and thoughtful, challenging conversation about how much the world does not know it needs what poetry practices, about poetry as conservation, as recreation, as the art that most does justice to the human condition and to the wild music of all being. Mark and Bronwyn will read a little of their own and each other's work. An elegant and enchanting evening of lyric poetry. We're upstairs in the Loft room of the very cool record store and bar, Echo & Bounce, Stanley Street, Woolloongabba, Meanjin/ Brisbane.
