Poetry in the Cowshed: 5–6 November

Published : Thursday, September 22, 2011

The poetry workshop I run in the cowshed is coming up fast (5–6 November). I like to keep numbers under eight, but there are still a few places left.
I think of the weekend as a gentle crash course in poetic form and technique. The shed and the paddocks do as much of the talking as I do, and the setting and the limited numbers allow us to work together closely and informally. This lapsed dairy has given me most of the poetry I’ve published. I’ll be surprised if some doesn’t show up for you, too
Poetry in the Cowshed is for established as well as beginning poets. It’s a chance to think some new thoughts about the making, nature and uses of poetry, to draw inspiration from a close reading of some fine poems, to workshop some recent poems of your own, and to make some new ones. All this in a picturesque pastoral setting. And the best food you’ll ever eat on a writing course.
Ten till five, Saturday and Sunday.
