Visiting Fellowship at the University of Wollongong

Published : Monday, September 15, 2008

From 15 September to the end of November, I’ll be at the University of Wollongong as a visiting fellow in the English Department. The fellowship will give me a chance to finish the final edit of The Blue Plateau, to work on a collection of poems and to begin my book, Reading Slowly at the End of Time. The department’s LIC program is turning its mind to animals, and apart from my own work, some consultation with writing students, a workshop or two and a poetry reading, I’ll be asked to present some work—an essay, a paper, some poems, perhaps—on that theme. I look forward to it all, and I’m grateful to Louise D’Arcens an Anne Collett for the invitation. I also look forward to some time on the coast.
